A Wonderful Wedding Weekend

It's come to my attention that everyone in the blogosphere is wondering where I went. Okay, well maybe not everyone, but I knew it had been too long when my mom left me a message today asking if everything was okay because I hadn't posted anything on my blog for awhile ;) Don't worry mom! Everything is great! I took the weekend off from the interwebs so I could stand up for one of my closest friends at her wedding in New Hampshire!

We left NYC on Thursday night and drove half way and stayed in Connecticut. On Friday morning we woke up bright and early and I went out for an 8.5 mile run. A new record for me! I actually felt pretty good for the first 7 miles. The last mile included a giant hill (6% grade!) and my feet were getting really tired. Overall I was pretty happy with the run and looking forward to getting my first double digit run this weekend!

After the long run we jumped in the car and drove up to New Hampshire. We met the beautiful couple and several other members of the bridal party at the local brewhouse, Portsmouth Brewery, for a tour and tasting. The tasting included 10 beers!

Saturday brought beautiful weather. We were hoping to get in a bike ride in the morning but the rehearsal dinner was a harbor cruise with an open bar and we just weren't feeling it. It was also a very hot and humid day so I decided to stay inside and I got in a quick workout in the hotel gym.
Then I got 'girlified' and helped ward off evil spirits as a bridesmaid for one of my closest friends!

The ceremoney and reception were right on the ocean in Rye, NH. It was breathtaking!

The beautiful bride with all the 'maids (that's me to the right of the lady in white).

This is Sam's favorite picture from the weekend. It looks like we planned this but in fact we did not... My husband is just insane :)

On our way home on Sunday we stopped at Crane Beach (near Ipswich, Massachusetts) to hang out with our adorable nephew, Lucas:

After the beach we hit the road again and spent the next five hours dodging traffic on the Mass Pike. Population density continues to astound me... We're back in NYC now and enduring a major heat wave. It's hard to get motivated to go for a run when it's already 75 degrees at 6am! Luckily the weather man says it should cool down next week!
